Introduction

I'm guessing anyone who comes to this site is doing so intentionally and will already be well aware of what 'The Big Adventure' entails. If you've come across this page in passing then chances are you won't find it in the least bit interesting or relevant although you're more than welcome to read on.

'The Big Adventure' is our impending migration to travel around, and then live in, Australia and has been well over 2 years in the planning. It started as an idea of mine which I slowly won Rachael round to until she caved and threw her full commitment behind it.

In that time we have paid off our respective debts, opened a joint bank account and amassed some savings, travelled to London to get my Australian passport (the car broke on the way home just outside London, £960 to fix), successfully applied for a Visa for Rachael, sorted out flights, bank accounts and accomodation, made numerous lists (Rachael), argued about what car to buy, how much to pack, where to go first and the population of Australia (I was right, it's about 20 million!).

Now here we are, 37 days until the first day of the first Ashes test at Lords and 37 days until we land at Brisbane airport.
