...and a Happy New Year

It's been a while but then we haven't got a great deal to report. Just been settling into our life in Brisbane, going to work and what not.

We had a good night on New Years and went to a Thai restuarant in New Farm along with Cousin Scott and Kitty and about 30 of their friends. Ended up back at their place where we drunk ourselves steadily into a stupour before heading home - all in all a result!

Those of you who aren't interested in cricket can skip this paragraph. We have also mnade our frist trip to the Gabba where we watched Australia take on South Africa in their first 20-20 match. Not surprisngly we gave the RSA a good kicking in a highly entertaining match.

Rachael has had a promotion of sorts in her job and is now the Prep teacher (4 and 5 year olds) which means she no longer has to deal with nappies and toilet training. I'm still working in the pub as I'm yet to hear anything from the jobs I've been applying for. The money is pretty good though as they pay penalty rates on the weekend meaning for 40 hours work I practically earn more than I was in the U.K.

We've both become pretty acclimatised to the heat now and I think I could quite happily live without air-conditioning, Rachael would tell you otherwise of course.

A quick note about the upcoming 2006 Ashes. It looks like you guys in the U.K. are going to find it pretty tough to get tickets. We can get 6 tickets per match (I think/hope!) otherwise you can just use our address in Australia to buy tickets yourself - if anyone wants in just drop me an email.

As soon as interesting things start happening again I'll keep you all in the loop.

Take care,
